Key Roles
Hello! My name is Melissa Johnson and I will be teaching Grade 8 for the school year.
Originally I am from Bergen, Alberta where I grew up on a farm with my three sisters and parents. (5 women in my household! My dad was so lucky!) I loved living on the farm as I truly enjoy the outdoors and would sneak off to the river to fish any chance I could.
After graduating, I attended the University of Lethbridge where I received my Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education majoring in Mathematics. Once I received my dual degree I began my teaching career at Olds High School teaching 9-12 Math and Science. I then taught at Ecole Innisfail Middle School for two years where I took on teaching grade 8 math and science. Wanting to be closer to home I transferred back to Olds and joined the Deer Meadow team! As you already may have figured out, I am teaching Grade 8, which is close to my heart!
I am very passionate about being a teacher and I believe I have chosen one of the most fulfilling careers out there!
